Kansas is quite different then California where I grew up. My Dad was a farmer too, but had to irrigate the orchards and alfalfa fields most all summer.
Here we work around the rain to get the hay cut and in the barn because it seems to rain more then not.
In California the gardens and flowers had to be watered often and the weeds were not much of a problem.
Here we wait for the rain to water our flowers and gardens and most often the rain will come but after the rain the work begins anew.
MY DAD IN CALIFORNIA
I’m not complaining I’m really counting my blessings. California is so fertile in land and sea but Kansas is also fertile in hope and productivity.
