What came first the chicken or the egg?
We hatched 30 chicks out of 40 eggs. Each egg that cracked and opened brought new excitement to the children and each grandchild picked one to call their own. The problem with this was they all looked alike. The rooster that fathered these little chicks is a Polish chicken. It’s not that we don’t have other roosters we do, but this funny looking Polish must catch the hens when the others are not looking. All the chicks except for 5 are black with a yellow hat and bib with yellow under bellies. They really look like little Penguins.
We started another batch today and if all goes well they should hatch June the 3rd. We might have developed a new breed. Ha ha. The Chicken, that’s who came first without a doubt.
