THE BROODER HOUSE / Kansas Farm Life / Carolyn’s Natural Soap

Outside in the brooder house is the first hatch of chicks.  They are getting their feathers and come to greet each child that comes to the door.  They don’t mind being held. Some of them even like to roost on a shoulder and peck at their hair. Eva tells me how they peck at the buttons on her shirt or pull on the ribbons in her hair.
